Most of QTL's essential and non-essential but commercially important patents are practiced at the subscriber unit and/or infrastructure levels, and are unaffected by whose modems are used. But your recollection of the royalty-free cross-license with MediaTek is apt.

Perfect. Phrase the comment " we would be interested in buying back their license ". That's it, we now have opened up the discussion that Apple really will have to pay us. The headlines of "losing Apple business " will be replaced with "Apple still has to pay". Which one do you prefer?
