There already is a R2K volatility index.
Market data is too noisy for anything other than VIX. Even VXN is not reliable.

But you are right that I need to develop specific vol and breadth indicators for my specific trading style.

BTW, I am now up 3.2%. So others are beginning to see it my way, even as the general market sucks.

PS I got rid of all my rare earths at the open. That money funded other purchases.

Below are some of my large cap holdings.

It's not true that I don't hold large cap stocks. My portfolio is fairly balanced and diversified.

You only have that impression because I show screenshots based on the daily moves and the large caps don't make the kinds of moves that brings them to the top of the list. But they do make slow and steady good moves.

EDIT A few (very few) of these are gone but I forgot to remove them off of this list. When you look at the charts, if it is in downtrend and has had more than 3 down days, it's gone. But most are there. And even those that are gone make for good comeback candidates.
