Two problems here. One, WWII is far enough back in history where praising Hitler is seen as edgy. That has been gamer-adjacent for some reason for at least a couple of decades. The second is that fascism does have its appeal to adolescent males with its strutting machismo and militarism. Not to mention, the role of women as subservient to men is catnip to incels. Some never grow out of it. The Young Republicans are like a magnet to that cohort.
