Re: I remember what happened back in 1979 or 80 when silver soared when the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market.

As do I! I used to go to the bank and get rolls and rolls of coins, pull out the silver ones, rewrap them and go back and repeat the process. I did that for a couple of years and had a nice stash of silver coins. I was standing in line in a coin shop, ready to sell my silver coins when silver hit its peak price. Unfortunately I was second in line when it peaked. I got to sell on the first price drop so I still got excellent prices for my silver.

I still have silver coins but mostly for their numismatic value. I'll be passing these on via my will.

re: silver - Thanks for the reply.

BTW: " I remember what happened back in 1979 or 80 when silver soared when the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market. The Commodities Exchange and government changed the rules and silver crashed."

This time is different, right? HA HA!
