The most successful people I know I succeed because of their "disabilities" rather than in spite of them.

The common saying that ugly women get the best men has more truth to it than not. But few people understand why. The pretty girls have it easy and have guys fight/compete over them. The not so pretty ones have to develop other skills to compete. These are the skills that actually make for a good life and lead to keeping lasting happy relationships. The pretty girls rarely get to develop those skills.

The same is true for pretty much everything else in life. The smart kids don't have to study and just get it. The not so smart kids have to study harder and longer, and in the process develop better impulse control, study skills, and habits to double check their answers. Then when they go to university or at work, they tend to outshine the smarter kids because there is a limit to how far innate talent carries you.

We are defined not but how talented we are but by what obstacles we overcome.
