albert he-he-he-he=he-ha - re: "offer for free deschutes Slot 2 upgrade from Compaq. "

You are a master of disseminating partial information. Learn that at the Gulag?

Below is the complete Compaq news release.

Compaq is offering it's customers who purchase Pentium Pro based servers in the next few months a free upgrade to Deschutes/Slot 2 versions.

This is a simple strategy to prevent a drop in sales between now and April/May time frame when Intel releases the 350 MHz/400 MHz SLot 2 Deschutes with Full Speed L2 cache.

You may note that Intel will sell Twice as many CPUs to Compaq under this arrangement. I'm sure you can do the math.

Now...about that AMD K6 400 MHz Server Chip that I hear Compaq is evaluating - can your Bloomberg Analysts confirm these stories?

Alberto - Re: "Is inventory problem at intel that bad?"

I guess being an AMD investor these days, you are unfamiliar with the concept of "inventory".

I know - they can sell all they make.

But that isn't saying much, is it?
