newbie question: How do you determine what your stop
loss will be when you get into one of these short term trades?

As a general rule, I don't build a position unless I can afford
2 to 3 buys, be it short or long. But if you pick a dog this can
really kill you.

Pardon the beginner question, but I'm interested in doing some
of this kind of trading.

Actually, I just switched from long to short on VLSI, hoping to get
a little hit. But even on this, I'll average my short position if the stock
continues up....

thanks,
-Kevin

Take a look at SVGI, SIGA, ALTR,CPRD(I am in this one)......Mark

Tom, note the nice upward move in MSX....Somebody is trying to disguise their interest in buying...Tight bid ask...I say it was a good pick and we go up from here....Mark
