In my day the UK education system was really good. Never realized it at the time. It's nowhere as good today. Streets ahead of the USA public school system though. We tried to get are kids into good schools in the USA but is was hopeless. That is the reason why I reluctantly returned to the UK. Kids did fine here, unexpectedly did amazingly well. My daughter did tell me about some of the stuff she learned in USA schools, it was interesting and different from what is told to young kids in the UK. Not wrong, just different.
