It is a terrible book. Not because of its ideas, but because it is poorly written. Lots of text walls as the characters have to pontificate on Ayn's ideas in an incoherent manner. Characters that have no depth or development, just a tabula rasa. None of whom act like they have the slightest shred of humanity. Just props with no believable motivations. They aspire to be a cardboard cutout, but fail.

I like weird books. Absolutely loved Gravity's Rainbow which I read about the same time. Not that GR is a literary masterpiece, albeit the line "fickt nicht mit der Raketenmensch!" still cracks me up, but in comparison, Fountainhead is written in crayon on a wall somewhere.

I had no idea there was a movie. What a s waste of money.
