NEW YORK, NY — Thursday's arrests of Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, former NBA player Damon Jones, and 28 other individuals were brought to you by DraftKings, the NBA said in a statement.

"This completely unsanctioned and clearly illegal activity is sponsored by DraftKings," the NBA said in a statement. "Use promo code MAFIA25 to receive $300 in bonus bets when you sign up for a new account."

Select NBA officials, along with members of the New York Mafia, reportedly participated in an illegal gambling ring in which they rigged poker games and sports bets in an elaborate scheme to swindle people out of tens of millions of dollars. When the FBI finally apprehended those involved and shut the operation down, the league clarified that the entire operation was made possible by DraftKings, the official sportsbook of the NBA.

"Today's arrests may look bad, but it's only made our relationship with DraftKings stronger," NBA commissioner Adam Silver said. "Play DraftKings today. The crown is yours!"

According to sources, the FBI had arrested an additional 12 NBA players for placing bets on who would be the next NBA players to be arrested for placing bets on the NBA.
