Selecting Wealth, and sorting by %, we see that the top 1% had a 16.6% share in 1989, which went UP to a 23.9% share in 2025.

The middle quintile had a 12.5% share in 1989, which went DOWN to a 7.9% share in 2025.

The next quintile down went from a 7.6% share DOWN to a 4.3% share.

I remember Rush Limbaugh repeatedly laughing, saying, "How can rich people be taking money from poor people? Poor people don't have any money! Ha ha, these people are nuts!"

But the chart proves him dead wrong*, as that's exactly what's happened.
