Although it seems a CPQ move is still a bit in the future, it is encouraging to see folks here talking of shorting it...that is a good sign it is likely to move up in the fairly near future.

In the meantime, I'll take my MADGF that I loaded up on recently at 3 7/8 and is now over 6 !!!! A 60% gain in about 1 1/2 months ain't too shabby !!!!

Jack,

CPQ is in the dog house mainly because of the news everyone knows. Of course, if you are that much desperate for a point or two, CPQ will be a nice short for you. However, it has great support at current level. Look at the 250% increase in the short interest in CPQ since last month and yet the issue actually moved up 10%+ since then.
CPQ is not a dog. It never has been. I believe of all the big high tech issue, CPQ is the cheapest one out there right now and this is the company that is going to challenge IBM for king of PC market in the future.
CPQ will have its hard time down the road. However, it is, and always be a winner.
I traded CPQ lots of time previously. This is one of my favorite issue. Currently I don't hold it (traded some DELL recently) but when this market rally stops, CPQ is the #1 issue I am going to buy.

good luck,
larry
