So do the ETFs change their distributions each month? One thing I kind of liked about the CEFs is that they don't change their dist very often and that makes the income stream more predictable.

I guess if you have a bunch of other things in a portfolio, one or two ETFs changing their distribution monthly does not make that big of a deal.

I have the same perspective as you. Several years ago, CEFs were attractive given their high yield and strategies utilizing Options and Leverage.

Now I am seeing lots of ETFs that are sporting high yields and utilizing options. I tend to prefer EFTs since their market price remains close to NAV.

CEFs with market prices that float independently of NAV could present an opportunity but adds a level of complexity that I prefer. not to deal with.
