Yes. In my career, I experienced the move from the use of mainframe computers to workstations and personal computers and now, interestingly, we’re circling back toward centralized computing again, just with quantum or cloud infrastructure this time.

Regarding Quil, after briefly reading through the spec, I agree with you. It definitely has that lower-level, assembly-like feel.

Back in the day, I wrote in assembly for the PDP-11, LSI-11, VAX-11/780, 8080, Z80, F8, 6502, 65816, 6800, 68000, 8086, and probably a few other processors I've forgotten. ;-)
