Dale, re the magic 4: DELL, CSCO, MSFT, INTC

As a CSCO long I post over there. Here's an excerpt from a message I wrote to one of folks earlier this month; and their reply.

"Back to the stock... CSCO doesn't disappoint. You hear it over and over. IBD dedicated an anniversary issue to stocks of the '90 last month. They evaluated the performance on 100 top stocks from 90-97. Guess who was number one... you got it, CSCO. They said if you had invested $10K in '90 when CSCO went public, you'd be a millionaire today."

Reply excerpt:
I followed the company just as it went public but didn't invest in it until about 2 1/2 years later. I've been to a few of their seminars and thats what really impressed me about the company. Good engineering and especially good management!

They have made me over a million $ and set up my retirement.

I was duly impressed!
Laura

Actually, DELL in the summer 1988 IPO was $.70 (after all the splits)

130/.7 = 185.7 times...

Or $1,000 = $185,714.

Or 72% annaul compoud growth!!!!

(I think you meant to say $10,000...)
