After my dig into who/what these Private Equity guys are; they appear to be legit. I suspect this is part of the plan, get as many of the preferred shareholders to 'elect' to the conversion, then eventually, call the outstanding preferreds in 2026. The possible Exit strategy may be to consolidate all these Hotel properties into one basket, re-finance and/or package the assets for another larger REIT to buy. That package may/could just include the outstanding SOHO preferreds . . Nothing illegal yet, The preferred shareholders continue to earn the dividends being a cumulative preferreds. Stay Tuned
