SHORT TERM TRADER...

Duh!...of course msft is a great long term play, but for those who like to trade this stock, very few opportunities come along where one can make money by SHORTING this stock. Here is the rational....

next product release that will add fuel to warm the Gates' estate will not be until June with the release of Windows 98 and then SQL Server 7.0, NT 5.0 and Office 99 to follow...the march quarter will thus not benefit from new products, unlike Q3 97 with office 97...so with the stock having risen already 32% YTD, there is room for profit-takers to move over the near term...note: last year the stock gained 56%, while in 1996 it gained 88%.....with mr gates facing the music next week in washington and fears of a strong unemployment report next friday, the stock will fall under short-term pressure...beware of a long bond above 6%....this will signal profit takers to move in across
and send the DJIA back to the 8200 level....and let us ot forget that starting next week, those companies reporting on a calender year will begin making preannouncements should the Asian Flu take its toll on friendly soil...BEFORE you start attacking me on my opinion, know that I am a bullish INVESTOR on this stock but a short term bearish TRADER....I will short this stock at the open tomorrow and hold till next friday...I look for a pull back to $80/share over the next 7 trading days....u heard it here first
