RE: Every one of you on this thread know that for a basic office PC a
P-166 or P-200 is plenty."

I use a a Dell P166 every day and its not enough. Hey Paul, is a P166 enough ? Someone forgot to let my employer know that, boy o' boy, sounds like PF all over again. It never stops, next Mike Taylor will be back here too.
Paul, I know these aren't your words but geez I am using Excel spredsheets, have the web open, and the 166 is slow, I need more already and think of the software to come.

Paul,
I was really looking for some answers to my questions.
Can AMD get a K6-K7 to run on a socket 7 PC100 ?
If INTC came out with a P II 233 Slot 2 on PC 100, How much faster would it be than a current P II 233 ?

Last what is the catlyst for more power on the Desktop ?
Just the desk top, Not servers, not workstations, Not Mini's etc.

BTW aren't most PC's sold Desk tops ?

Jim

Paul,>>>I have yet to see someone suggest that "we already have all the computing power we need".<<<

Out of curiosity, what does Intel do in the back office?

1. What is their annual expenditures for Information Technology?

2. How do they handle their Finished Goods Inventory, WIP, Raw Material, Production, Accounts Payable, Receivables, Payroll, Stock Options, etc?

Do they have Unix workstations or do they have some IBM mainframes hidden somewhere?

Is everything WYSIWYG or is there a lot of character based systems clunking away?
