Some were fired. Some aren't working for no pay.

They aren't paid because they aren't considered essential personnel. Like ICE is.

They are not going to fire any controllers.

We have been short of them for over twenty years!

As an active pilot and an FAA Certified Flight Instructor for over forty years I should know how the system works.

I really feel for these folks, all of them have been working overtime for years.
