Re: OHI

I owned OHI from 11/2016 until 11/2022. A small winner, but never revisited it. My notes indicated I sold it to buy UTG, my first CEF. Good luck with it!

QTI, thanks for the info.

From your list I’m holding O in my Income IRA. I also hold CTRE, DLR, and IRM (not in your list).

In general I’m not a big fan of REITs. My only rule, besides income generated, is that they stay above water. Is that too much to ask from them?

Oof, my history with OHI! Owned since 2014. Top#25 position so I consider it a sizable holding. Once a "dividend darling", if I recall they were a quarterly raiser for a long time. Then the troubles started.

For about a year straight (back in the day) there was probably an article everyday about how the dividend would be cut. Eminent they said. Well, I held my nose and held. No cut came, but no more raises came either. OHI is what I call (for me) and accidental high yielder. I bought as a DGI REIT and just kind of stuffed it in the back drawer when it was yielding like 8% and holding the dividend intact.

I am glad it is turning a corner. After all, "with all the boomers needing healthcare" how can it fail??? Thats been the headline for the past decade. Maybe another decade will pass and it will come true, not sure tho. Thats tongue and cheek..:-)

Good luck with OHI, I'm in there with you.

That is an old former holding I have not heard mentioned in forever. I hope it works out well for you. I was surprised it has never cut the dividend in spite of their challenges.
