Re - I would prefer to own 2 to 3 times more CEF's at a small percentage than to own a few as a large sized position I am following these tips and tweak my PF. Once the dividends show up in the a/c, I invest in other dividend paying positions that are smaller relative to other or buy a new position (e.g. UTF/NXBG). At the same time, now we have enough income coming from dividends, I am gradually allocating new money to growth stocks (adding to my existing positions in AMZN/GOOG/NVDA in same order). BTW, any plans in near future for us to meet in San Diego?
