Ayn Rand, though born in Russia, had a lifelong disdain for the mindset that came from it, the collectivism, envy, and fear of individual success. “The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.” AR It’s a perfect reflection of why independence of thought, especially when it’s unpopular, matters so much.

Lot is in the sources why many remain blind (duh?) comparing Putin, those who back him and Russian people.... tooo pre Putin, USSR.
