Where you going to winter at this year?

How is your remodel coming along?

Busy live trapping red squirrels, getting into my garage. Probably 15 plus so far. I've been taking them a half mile plus down the road. Getting kind of late for them to make a new home, and put in a food supply for winter.

I have to move some cabinets along one of the walls. I think the little buggers chewed and clawed a hole in the wall, which probably included 3/4 cedar siding plus maybe 5/8 plywood sheathing. Under some decking so I cannot see it from the outside.

I've made quite a bit of firewood on my place, never found a nest up in a tree. I think they burrow into the ground, store their food there, and it is warmer for them in the winter. They do not fully hibernate, but slow down and apparently sleep a lot. If I put out food in the middle of the winter, they do come out now and then to get some.
