Thanks for the post. That is actually a clever strategy.

I quit work about 12 years ago and we had HSA availability at work. The only thing I used it for was to pay health insurance premiums with pretax dollars. In hindsight, it would have been better to have built up a large balance to supplement healthcare costs in retirement. I guess I can't think of everything. That is why I appreciate others coming up with these ideas.

I believe, you can use HSA dollars to pay for Medicare premiums. Please check with your tax accountant to confirm.
