Yeah, you lied. He didn't soften his stance, he just thinks Trump is a bigger and more immediate threat at the moment. It is like living in Pompei, Mt. Vesuvius is rumbling, but your kitchen just caught on fire. It doesn't lessen the danger from the volcano, but you have a more immediate concern. That you seem to be unable to process that seems very odd.
