Sure, you can find apologists for almost anything. But that doesn't change the facts. The facts are that the Constitution rather pointedly ignored things the Articles of Confederation did. Like anything that could have justified succession or the rationales the pro-slavery tried to invoke leading up to succession. And yes, it was black and white, but the South refused to accept the reality. Much like MAGAts do today.
