Great movie. I wrote a long review of it for a film magazine back when it came out.. The message in the movie is much more complex than you seem to realize. In fact, if you read what Duvall had to say about this movie that he wrote, directed, and starred in, you will understand that it is more an argument for my side than yours. He was showing the complexities of faith, that it can mislead as well as empower. I think a better reference is the story of King Canute we all heard as kids. You deniers can make like King Canute and ignore climate change, but like the tide rose and engulfed Canute, climate wlil engulf you and me and the rest of us unless we find the will to change our way of life away from using the atmosphere as a garbage dump. Science does not care whether you believe in it or not, it remains the truth. LC
