Don't know if Mediatek offered a 5G option back in 2019 that Cook might have deemed viable. If not, Q should have extracted a hefty price to supply Cook with the thin modems, plus msrp royalty rate. Q knew Cook would push his people to replace Q's modems asap. Should not have cut Cook any deal.

I thought I heard Akash state QCT margins over 30% this QTR. With auto and IoT, margins due to mix are going to be all over the map. Few outside Q will be able to digest the impact of margins within any particular product segment.

In addition to the above Q is likely moving into the medium priced handset tier with their Snapdragon AI product and this is likely to have negative consequences as to overall QCT margins.

I don't think they're idiots, they just don't have the necessary info for a complete call as to margin mix.
