Mary, >> "But, if they could make this transition and be able to sell to the end user - Intel should then have PE multiple of about 50"

Let's hope !!!

>> "ADSL Lite .... standard driver on Windows ..."

Intel, Microsoft, Compaq and some baby Bells made a joint announcement in a recent trade show (Comdex???) to codevelop ADSL standards and ship product (rumor was Christmas 1998, but I couldn't find any follow-up confirmations to that report)

>>" .....$600 Billion dollars. This is the estimated cost to fix software ..."

Very useful info! Sure puts a perspective to the market potential.

Two questions I'd like to pose to you and Intel investors ....

1. Relative to the desktop PC market, how big do you think the low end market is .... not the low cost PC market..... but the PC chip in every appliance market (ie. autos, cell phones, wrist watchs, TVs, VCRs, alarm systems, .... etc. ) How do you arrive at that estimate of the market?

2. Intel made a pact to license and manufacture the StrongArm chip. See

biz.yahoo.com

Will Intel use that connection for serious foray into the appliance market?
