porc to Gebeloff: So What --!?!?>

<< Your new DSL won't be as fast as you think. >> Like, "Duh".
But, Gebeloff keeps chanting that it won't be 1MB/sec as if that's some kind of fatal flaw. porc rarely gets .003MB, now! So, 0.01MB would be a vast improvement for porc and most other users -- if the price were reasonable.

The analogy to auto traffic is highly flawed -- because cars can't be digitized. But, to go with his analogy, and apply it to "metering", it's obvious that a toll road with a high enough toll will have less traffic and thus allow higher speeds.

The fact is, any substantial improvement in the current snail's pace of downloads will be a great time saver for corporations. They will pay to save time, even if performance is much less than 1MB/sec. And they all have phone lines going to almost every desktop -- whereas few of them have cable tv -- or any plans for getting it.
