Gentex to make a roof assembly for a car? They havent even made an ec roof yet that is on market 10 - 15 years after a cheesey demo video they put out of a car roof with ec for promorion....they wont make spd film ever, not what they do....3m or dowe chem would/could make spd film, companies like that..... Gentex is scrambling to get an ec roof to market for cars and are years away they said in their recent conf call and they sell millions of ec rearview mirrors yet still years away from ec roof....i do not see how they could help spd unless putting it in a rearview mirror instead of ec which wont happen...or come up with some spd product that sells a ton and vision systems, now gauzy has tried that for years...the market demand is what matters or 3m or dowe chem making spd film and selling it much cheaper to glass laminators who put it in glass for car roofs or buildings....not even for certain that those massive companies can make the film cheaper than Gauzy, probably could at scale but wont happen if demand not there and profits from it Sales are needed, auto makers who want to buy spd for car roofs or others for buildings...i think it is coming now and soon, smartglass just starting to be known more and in more cars...
