This same prediction/promise was made during the start of industrialization and we all know how it turned out. Human greed, violence, and uncontrolled reproduction prevented the creation of a Utopia that could have been made using the wealth from the vastly increased productivity.

And robots have the potential to make thing much, much worse for the have nots.
