Candace Owens Is Now Fit for the Laughing Academy

Candace Owens admits she has become “obsessed with Jews.” She started out her public life exhibiting an anti-Israel animus that over time has exploded into a full-blown case of virulent antisemitism. Her social media posts are not different from what used to appear in Der Stürmer. Moreover, Kirk’s producer and a recently published letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from Kirk both contradict Owens’ claims and reveal the murdered activist was a strong supporter of the Jewish state right up to his death….
Kirk’s letter to Netanyahu was full of sympathy for the mistreatment of Israel in the media and again, a declaration of his unwavering support for the Jewish state. This letter directly contradicts Candace Owens’ claim that Kirk was turning away from Israel and that is why the Israelis killed him.
In June, she suggested that New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani was an Israeli plant, that Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel was lying about being in the Holocaust, and that Israel is the “master of the universe” that plants characters into stories so that it can control them.
Owens does not explain why she thinks that the virulently anti-Israel Zohran Mamdani, who has been engaged in anti-Israel activities since he was a college student at Bowdoin, founding that school’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine, who refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, and who will not condemn the homicidal chant to “globalize the Intifada,” could possibly be an “Israeli plant.” Her outrageous remarks on her podcast are, however, clickbait, and contribute to her income. Unhinged antisemitism, and wild conspiracy theories attract audiences, alas, on social media.
In January, Owens attacked the Babylon Bee — a conservative Christian satire organization — for making a joke about her fixation on Jews.
“It’s just very obvious they are worshipping Israel,” Owens said. “That they base their jokes on people who don’t worship Israel and ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu.” She also referred to the Babylon Bee as the “Zionist Bee” and the “Babylonian Talmudic Bee.”
Along with everything else that is wrong with her — that is to say, everything — Candace Owens has no sense of humor. She can’t take a joke made at her expense by the Babylon Bee, or by anyone else.
Last July, Owens claimed that the Star of David originated from an evil, child-sacrificing, pagan deity and has only become associated with Judaism within the past few hundred years.
Again, this wild story about the Star of David originating from “an evil, child-sacrificing, pagan deity” has no basis in fact. The hexagram began to appear as an ornament on Jewish artifacts in the 3rd-4th centuries, and not, as Owens, claims, “a few centuries ago.” She makes up one wild claim after another, happy to create a furor that then enlarges her online audience, and her income.
In a June episode, Owens argued that “it seems like our country [the US] is being held hostage by Israel.” She lamented, “I’m going to get in so much trouble for that. I don’t care.”
If Israel, and its Jewish supporters in the U.S., are so all-powerful, as Owens claims, why has she been allowed not just to survive, but to thrive, with a net worth above $5 million? Why haven’t “the Jews and the Zionists” been able to have her removed from the Internet? Why is the brave Candace Owens not been silenced?
In the same episode, Owens claimed US Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) was “wading into some dangerous waters” when, during an interview with host Tucker Carlson, he spoke about how effective the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is at lobbying members of Congress and suggested the group should have to register as a foreign agent that is acting on behalf of Israel.
AIPAC does not take orders from Israel. It does not support every act of the Israeli government. It does try to support political figures who are broadly supportive of Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state, and to educate political figures about threats to that existence.
The reason it was dangerous, Owens said, was because “we know there was once a president that wanted to make AIPAC register, and he ended up shot … so Thomas Massie better be careful.”
Owens was referencing the fact that former US President John F. Kennedy wanted the American Zionist Council [which Owens confuses with AIPAC], a lobby group, to register as a foreign agent.
However, there is no evidence the group had anything to do with Kennedy’s assassination.
Far from being an enemy of Israel, as Owens claims, Kennedy was a firm supporter of the Jewish state. He was the first American president to approve the sale of advanced, defensive American weapons to Israel, lifting the arms embargo enforced by previous administrations. This included the sale of Hawk anti-aircraft missiles in 1962, a major step in solidifying U.S. security support. As both a Senator and President, Kennedy publicly and repeatedly affirmed the U.S. commitment to Israel’s security and existence, calling it a “moral and national commitment.” He described friendship for Israel as a “national commitment” that stood beyond partisan politics. Does Owens know any of that? And if she did, would it matter, or would she continue to insist that Jews killed Kennedy because she claims, he wanted AIPAC “to register as a foreign agent”?
The lady’s a lunatic. A viciously antisemitic lunatic. Pay her no never mind, or if you feel you must, do so only to mock her. And let us all hope that the white-coated brigade will eventually come to her house and take Candace Owens to the Laughing Academy, where she so clearly belongs, for a good long stay.
