President Clinton to Address BancAmerica Robertson Stephens Technology Conference Tomorrow in San Francisco

WHERE: The Ritz-Carlton, 600 Stockton Street, San Francisco, CA

WHO: President Clinton will discuss the new economy and the benefits of
electronic commerce with over 700 technology leaders.

WHAT: The BancAmerica Robertson Stephens technology conference for
institutional investors is the largest forum of its kind in the world,
featuring presentations from over 350 technology companies. Over 3,700 are in
attendance.

PRESS CREDENTIALS: Press may register in advance or on site tomorrow
before 9:30 a.m. Media previously registered for the Tech conference must
re-register for press credentials.

Thanks for the nice welcome guys, you are
correct in assuming WDM fits into the OSI model.

What I am seeing is the customer embedding the Physical
Serivce layers such as Voice, Frame, IP
into logical overlays on ATM and then of course
onto physical connectivity (transport) such as SDH / WDM.
Services and Management to Switching to Transport.

While most of the market looks upon WDM as a point to
point benefit, It is becoming a media for distributing
switching.

IMHO, CSCO buys them for total turnkey solutions, while
I have no fact on the following, again I stand on my
soapbox and point out that a corporation does NOT invoke
a shareholder's rights plan for nothing.

I've been buying CIEN all the way down to 38, while
I can't go into it here, I've been in their labs and
"You ain't seen nutin yet".
