Bob, "The Electronic Day Trader" may have a few pages of the info you're looking for, but when I read it, it was about 95% oriented toward "The Watcher" SOES system and how to make the most use of that. If you don't have a "Watcher", it will be confusing and not that useful... Unless they've changed it in the last year.

Using Bid/Ask - in Level II, sometimes I've found it works, sometimes not.

Bob-
You sound like a bright knowledgeable guy from all of your postings. You already have the answer to your question -"I find the price and volume action of the stock more indicative of future price action" . If you can do that, you don't need to Xray a level2 to clip 1/8's off the other traders or MM's. Trades mean 1000% more than the bid/ask, don't listen to the tickethouse "training" to hit the bid if a trade goes against you an 1/8, if you picked the right stock and time of entry, you can buy the scalper's stock by being the bid. Don't try that till you've watched for a while. Concentrate on trading, oh and thanks for cutting down on the length of your posts.
