I can cite many examples in the last few weeks even where the gap up has held. Take a look at ELNK for one, it hit 53 today after gapping 7 points in a day a few weeks ago. It's continued to move higher. Other stocks in the past have also never filled the gap because of blow-out earnings. SMOD and JBIL are just 2 that I can mention offhand. JBIL gapped from 62 to 85 in one hellacious day and never ever filled that void, even though it came close. This is presplit by the way.

Today price change is not a momentum play. We saw the investors perception of value change. The price of the stock adjusted up to meet the new expectations for this company. It's like waking up and finding your house now overlooks the 9th hole at Pebble Beach. You house is now worth more, a lot more and it's not likely to drop in the forseeable future.
