Just lost my ISP for another half-hour. In case any of you were
affected by the first 7 hour blackout, my ISP's explanation:

Greetings!

As many of you are no doubt aware, BellSouth had a MAJOR problem on
Wednesday Feb 25th, during the afternoon and early evening. A primary
SS7 signaling switch in Chicago went down and was "uncooperative" when
BellSouth attempted to return it to service. As a result, much of
South Florida was unable to call certain long distance/800 numbers as
well as to connect to our network. This outage affected nearly every
business which uses high-speed digital telephone lines (such as xxxx).
Supposedly, the problem has been fixed (we certainly hope so!) and
everything has returned to normal.
