"Treat the addict. Reduce the demand."

I'd be inclined to scoff at that idea, but we've already done that with tobacco over the course of several decades.

I don't know Ten, we have tried safe injections sites here and still thousands have died of drug over doses, if someone doesn't want treatment what are you going to do. Not a drug addict but a very good friend was an alcoholic. smart with a dry sense of humour When I was single I would go to his house on weekends because there were always single girls there, he was a supervisor at a company that employed 600 hundred women. Anyway he drank two nights a week when I met him usually just beer. I got married and did not see him for a few years. after I was single again he got a hold of me. He was living in the closet of a lesbian friend. I had just bought a house so I let him stay in the basement. fast forward a few years he was a mess. a child he had with a much younger women died of leukemia. He drank every day, His doc told him he had to quit so he went to rehab. When he came out he had more drinking buddies and drank vodka. I could not help him, he wanted me to shoot him, he had two hand guns. I told him no way. I didn't see him for awhile then I got a call from his ex mother in law, he had killed himself.
