Thats correct. We take a hit on the GDP, but we won the shutdown battle. The R's stayed united while 8 D's jumped ship. Why did they cave? Because their constituents were turning against them. I mentioned earlier the D's had the leverage during the shutdown simply because they didnt care. Their alliance is less on Americans but more on the illegals That advantage was offset with the pressure from their own voters.
