" In reality, they won’t even move to Florida."

If there's a tax increase, which I doubt will happen, they only have to move out of city limits. They can commute in a chopper.

Eric, Krugman probably saw this clip from The Daily Show:

New York millionaires: threatening to flee the city since 2009 (YouTube Short)

I don't know what to say about the quality of life in NYC these days. Suffice to say that anyone making over a million dollars per year probably enjoys it there.

People who make less, however, are likely to be suffering, even those making a "mere" $500K/year.

On the other hand, Krugman claims that NYC is one of America's "safest cities." Where does he get that? Has he already forgotten about the Bill de Blasio era? I bet people STILL look over their shoulders while waiting on the subway platforms.

Bottom line is that living in NYC is NOT for the faint of heart.

Either way, I don't see Mamdani turning NYC into a socialist hellhole, at least no more than Sadiq Khan turned London into some sort of post-apocalyptic shithole.

Of course, don't tell that to those who are addicted to FOXNews. They're probably going to tell you that it's literally a wAr zOnE in Manhattan ...
