There is a paradox that describes this.

The models and the value added goes to zero. It lowers the prices and increases the capability. The use goes up 100X. The need for hardware support goes up. The Morlocks win.

But, there will be changes in algo that could decimate the need for hardware.

You roll the dice, you take your chances.

So when reality hits the AI "space," corporate managements will be rightly castigated for:

1) accounting gimmicks involving depreciation,
2) putting in place expensive technology that has not been "field-tested" to determine size of the market,
3) failing to predetermine competitive threats/ duplication of output...lots of dollars chasing too few users,
4) huge drains on electric grid
