HAL to buy DI (Dresser) -( and MUEI/ NOVL chat) could this be the start of merger mania in the oil patch or equipment sector. Yoo hoo - big boys, look at UTI, very nice little company, could be bot with petty cash. today i sold MUEI for the Z for small gain and bot NOVL. Right now that looks like a mistake. My reason for it was MUEI had just reported another disappointing quarter and NOVL had reported a better than expected. While the short term performance (today) of these two stocks indicates that i would have been better to have slept late, I still think that it was a good switch. MUEI may just be cleaning house with the new administration, and taking actions that could still be blamed on the previous administration. but with all the box makers reported ga-ga earnings, it is hard to continue to get excited about this company that makes great computers but can't make money. NOVL, on the other hand, seems further along in its metamorphosis. Think NOVL has good chance to get above 10, and if it can hold there, we should see 12 or so. then again, I still believe in the easter bunny. Larry
