In 2025, Walmart is offering Butterball turkey for $0.97 per pound, the lowest price since 2019, as part of its Thanksgiving meal basket.

Turkey is a loss leader at many grocery stores. Safeway here has it at $0.77 per pound with minimum $50 purchase. Free turkey if you spend $150 or more..

From your third link:

"Walmart's 2024 meal kit was advertised at $7 per person, and to hold down prices, the 2025 Thanksgiving basket contains about half the items compared to last year, eliminating fresh vegetables and pecan pie."
