Drop your hope. Win98 is no different from Win95
architecturally. Even worse, benchmarks run slower
than Win95 because of smooth panning and zooming
of every windows object - a feature that cannot
be disabled (at least in beta versions I had).
Performance is not in the dictionary of M$FT.

Speaking about NT, surprisingly the drop in cacheless
performance is even worse.
