CJ,
I was just pointing out that malpractice insurance, which can reach 6 figures in some specialties, is a factor. One that goes away with universal healthcare.
Wait, what? How in the world does malpractice insurance go away with universal healthcare? The legal liability will still exist, unless somehow laws are passed to limit or even eliminate it for doctors. And I don't see said laws ever getting passed, especially when Washington is full of lawyers.
Not having to staff an office that mainly deals with insurance and its complexities is another, rather significant cost.
That I can agree with, although again, this mainly affects private practice. Doctors employed by HMOs or hospitals don't have to deal with that, although someone still has to deal with insurance.
