Gregg and all,

"What's really amazing is that people seem to be completely missing the infrastructure revenue ramp and Globalstar gateway shipments during the second half. This is extremely important because the company's poor manufacturing margins are due primarily to losses in the infrastructure group. Were this segment to break even (or heaven help us, turn a profit), the underlying profitability of the ASIC, handset, Omnitracs and contract services businesses would become quite apparent."

I agree 100%.

Techteam, Any quality company? All the companies I stated yesterday. All of them have high PE ratio. What type of analysis do you do? Show me something I have not learned. Please do not just give one-liner. That way your analysis will turn out to be like any street smart people. Show us some dough!!! Do not waste your talent being an analyst. I am all ears with open mind. More qualities if you want. LOR, GSTRF, WCOM, QWST, WCII, IRIDF. I do not believe any of them making any money yet. Are they qualified? LU, AOL, Earthlink. I am confused. What is the definition of your "quality" company?

Brian H.

Gregg,

As a long-term investor in Qualcomm, I am hoping you can respond to the two questions I have about the future:

1) I have heard a rumor that some institutions may be avoiding Qualcomm because of concern about patent expiration. What is knowledge about how long the key patents have to run?

2) What do you know about the Qcom research facility in Haifa, Israel that gets mentioned once in awhile? Can you share what is going on there?

Thanks in advance for your reply on these questions and all your informed reassurance the past month when our faith was tested.
