there a few other reasons. we normally do not elect wackos like trump, our conservatives with a few exceptions are closer to the centre than to the far right. Although we do have shootings they are minuscule compared to the USA. Corruption by politicians is rare. Crazies cannot buy guns unless they cross the border and smuggle them back into Canada
