"Appaloosa", if you read it in a particular way, it kinda sounds like "Apple Loser".

Either way, that fund increasing their stakes significantly in Q is a good thing. This news was out for quite some time now. No magic had happened yet on the stock. Not sure how influential this fund house is.

Jim, your post referencing the April 6, 2025 article about Appaloosa adding to its QCOM position led me to ask the Comet Assistant powered by Perplexity AI about more recent QCOM action by that fund.

After that April 2025 article (which was looking back at Appaloosa’s Q4 2024 buying), Tepper’s fund has continued to add materially to its Qualcomm position.

QCOM position changes after Q4 2024
  • A Q4 2024 holdings snapshot shows Appaloosa owning about 350,000 shares of QCOM, representing roughly 0.9% of its reported 13F portfolio at that time.?

  • More recently, a November 2025 update on institutional holdings reports that Appaloosa LP added 895,000 shares of QCOM in the 13F filing for the quarter ended September 30, 2025.? www.quiverquant.com

  • Taken together, that implies Appaloosa has significantly increased its Qualcomm exposure versus the level implied in the earlier article, moving from a mid-six-figure share count into a position larger by almost a million shares in the latest reported quarter.? stockzoa.com
