Good point! IF they use cheap, unreliable components from China that don't last, the homeowner probably isn't on the hook for repairs, but I've not verified this. I've read leasing solar can be a significant obstacle to selling. Here a good percentage of homes are torn down, and the land is used to rebuild so I'm not sure how that figures in but the $20K probably at risk is most likely noise to the people paying rent to live somewhere else for two years while spending $2M to build a new home. That is certainly a very small percentage of the total market.
