I noticed that Bay (which resells Yurie gear) has had some major announcements along a similar line. Note Cisco's objectives for this year.

Cisco Systems Inc. is starting a major push into health care, seeking to capture the lead in an industry it hopes will become a big market for integrated voice, video, and data networks.

Cisco hopes to supply that advantage to its customers by consolidating
health-care voice, video, and data on a single network, Chambers says. "The prime drivers in health care are very similar to what drives other businesses-first, improving service to customers, second, cost reduction," he says. "The third is how to gain competitive advantage."

Three of these sites have already been migrated to Cisco 3810 multiservice access concentrators with video capabilities now being tested. "We're combining video and data, and in some cases voice, too," Murphy says. The idea in combining the networks is to cut costs. "We have links at most of these sites already for data," Murphy says. "Why pay for an extra link for video when you can use the existing link?"

Strategic Acquisitions

Providing multiservice network equipment has been a key objective at Cisco for almost a year, Chambers says. Nearly half of the company's planned 15 to 20 acquisitions this year will be companies that can provide technology to further this objective, he adds.

Thanks for your comments Steve G.

You know, the more I think about it you're right. There's no way alternative technologies or competitors in the ATM CPE space can infringe upon YURI's futures. This stock should be trading easily at 40...if it just weren't for that darn evil short out there. I stand corrected. Thanks for opening up my eyes.
